Opinion question:

Do you guys think it’s hot when a someone reads poetry for you? Like unf Poe or Emily Dickinson or some other wicked badass writer, or his own poetry?

Peine Forte et Dure

French for “hard and forceful punishment”, this ghastly form of execution was for those who stood silent to authority questioning {in English law}.

The above image is a depiction of the execution of Giles Corey, accused wizard. As he refused the plea, the sheriff would add weight to the pile upon him. The only words he exclaimed  “More weight, more weight!” and to that he was pressed to death.

“And just as there are physical monsters, can there not be mental or psychic monsters born? The face and body may be perfect, but if a twisted gene or a malformed egg can produce physical monsters, may not the same process produce a malformed soul?”
East of Eden {Ch 8}, John Steinbeck

“….Die not, poore death, nor yet canst thou kill mee.
From rest and sleepe, which but thy pictures bee,
Much pleasure, then from thee, much more must flow,
And soonest our best men with thee doe goe,
Rest of their bones, and soules deliverie….”

“I slammed out… and started walking, heading nowhere in particular. Sometimes you just need to go through a door.”

Jacob in Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children.

Totally relevant right now.

“The smell of her hair, the taste of her mouth, the feeling of her skin seemed to have got inside him, or into the air all around him. She had become a physical necessity.”

*Really Awesome Book: Cornelia and the Audacious Escapades of the Somerset Sisters byLesley M. M. Blume

It’s a book geared towards the younger crowd, but it’s still one of the greatest things I’ve ever read.

It’s basically about this girl who lives in an apartment and an old lady moves nearby, who has all these fascinating and extraordinary adventures in other countries, with her sisters.

I strongly suggest it, especially if you’re super bored and need a good read. Highly entertaining :]

Origin of the term “lesbian”

Back in ancient Greece, people weren’t so damn butthurt over homosexuality. Sappho was not persecuted at all for her writing.

I  found a little brief history on how this word for female homosexuality was coined. Cool to know, and if you already do, share it with your followers ^3^.
